In what can be termed as a sunny spot on the PM Suryagarh scheme, 800 beneficiaries have applied for loans, out of which more than 700 beneficiaries have paid 10 per cent stake. It may be noted that earlier this month, the government announced that solar panels for 2 lakh households in NTR district would be provided as part of the Suryagarh scheme.

The beneficiaries who have taken loan from the bank can avail free electricity under the Suryagarh scheme and repay the bank loan through the savings by paying the normal electricity bill every month.

A rally was held on Tuesday from Patamata NTR Circle and up to Guru Nanak Colony to create awareness among the people in which Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni and NTR District Collector Dr. G.Lakshmisha took part. They then visited the house where the solar panel has been installed in Guru Nanak Colony and congratulated the beneficiary.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) said that the central government will implement the PM Suryagarh scheme to reduce the burden of electricity payments to the people. He stated that beneficiaries will not be required to pay electricity bills by installing a solar panel on their houses at the lowest cost and using the electricity generated for free domestic purposes.

Later, the MP and collector visited the house of Manna Naga Bhaskaramba, who installed the solar power panel in Guru Nanak Nagar , enquired about the details of the consumption of electricity through the solar panel and congratulated the beneficiary.
