‘Govt to set up eight district study circles for minority students’

Metro India News | Hyderabad : The Telangana government will set up eight new minority study circles across the state to make competitive examination coaching more accessible to minority students in rural districts, Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin told the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. Answering questions raised by Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, the Minister said the new centers will be established in Adilabad, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Hanamkonda, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Karimnagar, and Khammam. The decentralisation initiative aims to reduce the need for regional students to travel to the state capital.

Azharuddin also highlighted infrastructure upgrades, noting that the central Hyderabad Study Circle has been relocated from a private facility to a dedicated government building equipped with modernised course offerings and planned student housing. The state’s current Rs 4 crore study circle budget will be increased proportionately as the district branches become operational, he said.

Sirpur Kagaznagar MLA Palvai Harish Babu raised issues concerning the functioning of two TMREIS schools in Kagaznagar. He sought information regarding the appointment of regular staff and highlighted concerns relating to the availability of employees and administrative supervision.

Harish Babu also raised the issue of dumping yards located near the two schools and requested government intervention. The MLA further requested that an existing ITI building in Kagaznagar be converted into an Advanced Training Centre (ATC) for the benefit of minority students.

Responding to the issues raised in the Assembly, the Minister said regular staff would be appointed at the earliest and assured the House that the suggestions and concerns raised by the MLAs would be considered.

Responding to the request regarding Kagaznagar, the Minister said he would visit the area at a convenient date and time in consultation with the MLA and personally review the issues.
