Governor launches ‘Chand Tara’ trailer

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday released the trailer of Chand Tara, a heritage-based film on legendary Qutb Shahi-era dancer Taramati, directed by Padma Shri Mohammed Ali Baig, at a function held at Taramati Baradari in Hyderabad.

The Governor also launched Poems Across Time, an anthology edited by retired IAS officer B.P. Acharya. The collection features poems by three members of the same family — B.P. Acharya, his late brother Dr. D.P. Acharya, and nephew Anshuman Acharya.

Paying floral tributes to theatre stalwart Qadir Ali Baig on his 42nd death anniversary, the Governor praised the efforts of the Qadir Ali Baig Foundation in preserving Hyderabad’s rich cultural heritage. He stressed the importance of promoting mother tongues and traditional art forms such as theatre to keep cultural traditions alive.

Shukla also commended Acharya for bringing together the literary voices of three generations in a unique anthology.
