“Telugu Drama Day” on Kandukuri’s birth anniversary

State Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography said on Tuesday that on the occasion of the 177th birth anniversary of noted writer, social reformer and multi-faceted genius Kandukuri Veeresalingam Pantulu on April 16, the state government has decided to celebrate “Telugu Drama Day “. An order to this effect was issued constituting an 11-member committee under the chairmanship of drama, film writer and parishad organiser Dr Burra Sai Madhav to select the Awardees.

3 Kandukuri prestigious Rangasthalam Awards will be presented at state level and 130 district-level Kandukuri “Vishishta Puraskars” will be presented in 26 districts with five awardees per district. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Durgesh said that the government is giving importance to art and drama fields. He said that Kandukuri's “Rangasthalam Awards” will be presented  at the state level along with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each and “Vishishta Puraskars” at district level with a  cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.
