GNITC holds FDP on deep learning

GNITC Successfully Concludes AICTE–ATAL Faculty Development Programme on “Deep Learning for Real-World Applications: From Fundamentals to Deployment”

Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus (GNITC), Hyderabad, concluded a six-day AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy-sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Deep Learning for Real-World Applications: From Fundamentals to Deployment.”

Held from September 7 to 12, the programme brought together faculty members and academic participants from institutions across Telangana for intensive sessions on deep learning, artificial intelligence and their practical applications.

The inaugural session was attended by Sardar Gagandeep Singh Kohli, Chancellor, Guru Nanak University and Vice-Chairman, Guru Nanak Institutions, and Dr. H. S. Saini, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak University and Managing Director, Guru Nanak Institutions. Dr. Sreenatha Reddy, Director, GNITC; Dr. Rishi Sayal, Associate Director and FDP Co-Coordinator; Dr. S. V. Ranganayakulu, Dean, R&D; Dr. Geeta Tripathi, Professor and Head, CSE; and Dr. Ravindra Changala, Head, CSE, were also present.

Technical sessions were conducted by experts from academia, research and industry. Dr. Lalit Kumar Singh, Professor and Senior Scientist, NPCIL–BARC, Mumbai, discussed AI applications in safety-critical systems and reliability analysis. Dr. Sake Madhu, Head, AIML, GNITC, and Dr. C. Ganeshkumar, Associate Professor, University of Hyderabad, handled sessions on deep learning and AI.

Dr. Geeta Tripathi covered LSTM networks, variants, transformers and attention mechanisms, while Dr. Bala Prasad Peddigari spoke on AI and its applications. Mr. Srinivas Taluka, Vice President–Facilities, T-Hub, Hyderabad, added an industry perspective.

Participants also visited T-Hub to gain exposure to innovation, entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem.

Dr. N. Srihari Rao, Professor, CSE and ATAL FDP Coordinator, said the programme helped participants understand the journey from deep learning fundamentals to real-world deployment. The organizers thanked AICTE–ATAL Academy, management, leadership, resource persons, faculty, staff and participants for supporting the programme.
