In a citizen-friendly initiative to strengthen sanitation services and ensure quick grievance redressal, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has enabled residents to report sanitation-related issues directly through WhatsApp. This initiative allows citizens to quickly inform GHMC about sanitation concerns in their localities without visiting any office.
Citizens can now report issues such as garbage on roads, overflowing bins, uncleared waste, choked nalas requiring desilting, and green waste removal through a simple WhatsApp message. By sending a photo along with the location of the issue to the dedicated number 8125966586, residents can bring sanitation problems to the attention of GHMC officials for prompt action.
The WhatsApp-based system aims to provide a quick, simple, and accessible platform for citizens to participate in maintaining cleanliness across the city. Once the complaint is received, the concerned sanitation teams will be alerted to address the issue at the earliest.
GHMC officials stated that the initiative will help strengthen coordination between citizens and civic authorities while improving the overall sanitation management system in the city.
To create awareness among citizens, GHMC has also released a short awareness video demonstrating how to report sanitation issues using WhatsApp.
GHMC has urged citizens to actively participate in keeping the city clean and hygienic by promptly reporting sanitation concerns. Public cooperation plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, green, and healthy Hyderabad.
