CMRF lifeline for the poor; Rs1,000 crore distributed so far, says Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar

Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Sunday said the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) has emerged as a major support system for poor families in need of medical and financial assistance.

Participating in a CMRF cheque distribution programme at the camp office in Puttavaripalem of Santhamaguluru mandal in the Addanki constituency, the minister distributed financial assistance cheques to 103 beneficiaries and handed over LOC documents to 15 others.

Addressing the gathering, Ravi Kumar said that over Rs1,000 crore has been distributed across Andhra Pradesh through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, helping economically weaker patients receive critical medical treatment during emergencies.

He stated that the state government is committed to supporting the poor during times of distress and ensuring that every eligible applicant seeking assistance through the fund receives timely support.

Later, the minister participated in International Women’s Day celebrations at the camp office, where he greeted women and acknowledged their crucial role in family and society. He reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment through expanded opportunities in education and employment, while also recalling the contributions of N. T. Rama Rao in granting equal property rights to women.
