The 81-day Gavishthi Gauraksharth Dharma Yatra, led under the guidance of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj, is set to reach Kashi today, May 13, via Mirzapur. The journey began from Gorakhpur and is aimed at covering all 503 assembly constituencies across the state, according to media spokesperson Sanjay Pandey.

The yatra is focused on cow protection and seeks recognition of the cow as a national and state mother. It has been drawing strong public support from devotees and cow protection groups across Uttar Pradesh, with large participation expected during its passage through major regions.

On reaching Kashi, the procession will pass through Rohaniya, Cantt, South, and North assembly segments before entering Shivpur constituency, where Shankaracharya will stay overnight. On the next day, the yatra will continue towards Ajgar, Pindra, Sevapuri, and Bhadohi before moving to its next destination.

The media office stated that the journey is being undertaken during the peak summer season to highlight the urgency of cow protection issues and to mobilize wider participation from rural and urban communities. Organizers said the yatra aims to strengthen awareness around gau raksha and related cultural values across the state.

Supporters along the route are preparing grand receptions and devotional programs to welcome the spiritual leader as the Gavishthi Yatra progresses through eastern Uttar Pradesh.
