In a significant move to empower the urban poor and fulfill long-standing promises, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, announced that starting next week, house site pattas can be registered without spending a single rupee. Further, he stated that within two years, beneficiaries will also gain the right to legally sell these properties.

Addressing a large public gathering as part of the “Mana Illu - Mana Lokesh” outreach campaign at Don Bosco School in Mangalagiri, Lokesh distributed permanent house site pattas to 430 poor families from the Tadepalli Mahanadu area on the fourth day of the program. In total, 1,030 families received pattas on the day.
