Four-fold increase in investments from Davos this year: Sridhar Babu

The Telangana IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has stated that Telangana has achieved an extraordinary milestone at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, with investments witnessing a four-fold increase compared to the previous year. Speaking to the media along with CM Revanth Reddy in Secretariat on Tuesday, he emphasized that the state government is moving forward with a united resolve to ensure the development and prosperity of Telangana.

Led by Chief Minister M. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana delegation secured investments worth an impressive Rs 1.80 lakh crore through agreements with 16 companies during the four-day event in Davos, Switzerland. These investments are projected to create 51,000 jobs across various sectors in the state.

Agreements signed in Zurich and Davos have set a new benchmark, marking the highest-ever investment inflow in Telangana's history, the minister stressed. Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted that Telangana Industry sector got a significant boost, with investments quadrupling compared to 2024. 

In the first year (2024), the Congress government signed MoUs worth Rs 40,000 crore. He termed this as a crucial step toward the state’s vision of transforming Telangana into a trillion-dollar economy

“Our biggest success lies in ensuring that the companies entering into agreements with us establish themselves here, creating real impact for our people,” Minister Sridhar Babu stated. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of Telangana’s people, with a focus on youth employment and infrastructure development.

The revival of Musi River and the creation of employment opportunities remain key priorities. Sridhar Babu also announced the government's agreement to collaborate with the Singapore government on the establishment of a Skill University, aimed at equipping Telangana’s youth with advanced skills and job opportunities.

When asked about opposition parties' criticism of the Davos visit, Sridhar Babu said, “We welcome constructive criticism and take it as advice to improve. Our primary goal is to ensure the growth and prosperity of Telangana.”
