Foundation Stone Laying of Amul's First State of the Art Plant in Telangana

Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy performed the Bhoomi Pujan of Amul's First State of the Art Plant in Telengana at Urja Industrial Park in Toopran, Medak district. The event was attended by Shri D Sridhar Babu Hon'ble Minister for Information & Technology, Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana, Shri Dr G Vivek Venkataswamy, Hon'ble Minister for Labour & Employment, Training & Factories, Government of Telangana ,Shri Raghunandan Rao, Member of Parliament, Medak,  Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, IAS, Union Secretary for Cooperation, Shri Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Chairman- GCMMF (Amul), Shri Gordhanbhai  Dhameliya, Vice- Chairman- GCMMF (Amul),  Shri Shamalbhai Patel, Chairman - Sabar Milk Producers' Cooperative Union Ltd. and other officials, along with over 5000 farmers of Telengana state.

 The new mega integrated dairy plant will be managed by the Sabarkantha District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (Sabar Dairy), a founder member of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, that markets dairy and food products under the brand Amul. Sabar Dairy’s journey began in 1964 with a small group of milk producers in North Gujarat. Today, that cooperative journey is reaching a new milestone in Telangana. Guided by the vision of Viksit Bharat, where prosperous and empowered farmers help shape a developed India, Sabar Dairy plans to establish a new dairy plant with an estimated investment of ₹400 crore.

The new dairy plant will be set uo with a capacity to process 5 lakh liters of fresh milk daily, 200 metric tonnes of curd, 30,000 liters each of buttermilk and lassi, and 10 metric tonnes of paneer per day. The plans also include capacity to manufacture 50,000 liters of ice cream, 3 metric tonnes of sweets, and 5 metric tonnes each of bakery products and ghee per day. The products manufactured will be sold under the brand name Amul across Telangana.Around 20,000 farming families in Telengana are already connected with this initiative and Sabar Dairy has a goal to reach 1 lac farmer families and collect milk from every district of the state. This new plant is intended to create more opportunities for farmers and bring more dairy products to consumers.
