Fin minister expresses ire over payment of bills to Rushikonda Palace contractor

Minister Payyavulu expressed his displeasure as to why payments had to be made to the contractor even if there were other bills

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav expressed his displeasure over the issue of payment of bills to the construction contractor of “Rushikonda Palace.”(the huge building which YS Jagan had constructed at Visakhapatnam in the name of CMs camp office allegedly at a cost of hundreds of crores ). He lashed out at the top officials of the finance ministry and also called for an explanation from them.

Officials revealed that the bills for the construction work of Rushikonda palace have not been paid. Officials explained that the bills were paid for other works undertaken by the same company. Minister Payyavulu expressed his displeasure as to why payments had to be made to the contractor even if there were other bills.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav also warned of the consequences if the bills are paid without bringing it to the notice of the CM or him. The authorities have cleared Rs 60.96 crores worth of bills to Deck Infrastructure and Project India, which has taken over the lion's share of the construction of the palace in Rushikonda.

The payment of these bills related to the university works in Visakhapatnam and the medical college in Pulivendula has now become a topic of discussion. Small and medium-sized contractors in the state are waiting since long for the payment of their bills. While payments of less than Rs 1 crore have not been received, a big contractor company, which played a key role in Jagan's tenure, has received payment for their bills.
