Panic gripped tribal residents in a remote agency area after a large unidentified object fell from the sky with a loud noise, creating fear and confusion among villagers. The incident occurred in a forested region near Boyithili village in G. Madugula mandal.

Initially, locals suspected that the object could be a helicopter or even a military aircraft, leading to widespread anxiety. However, authorities later confirmed that it was a large medical drone being used for emergency healthcare delivery, bringing relief to the frightened residents.

According to officials, the state government, in collaboration with a private organisation named ‘Red Wing’, has been conducting trial runs of drone-based medical delivery services in remote tribal areas. These drones are intended to transport essential medicines and emergency supplies to inaccessible regions where conventional transport is difficult.

During one such trial, the drone reportedly developed a technical malfunction and crashed into dense forest vegetation. Unlike regular drones, this device was significantly larger and resembled a mini-helicopter, which contributed to the initial panic among villagers.

As news of the crash spread, people from nearby hamlets gathered at the site in large numbers. Fortunately, the drone fell in an uninhabited area, and no casualties or injuries were reported. However, locals expressed concern that the situation could have turned dangerous if the drone had fallen on residential areas.

Company representatives reached the spot shortly after the incident and recovered the debris. They clarified that the incident was caused by a technical fault and noted that such risks are not uncommon during trial phases of advanced technologies.
