Union minister highlighted design, entrepreneurship and research as crucial pillars shaping the country’s future economic growth trajectory
Piyush Goyal on Sunday said design, innovation, research and entrepreneurship will become the foundation of a developed India, while stressing the need to expand the reach of the National Institute of Design across the country.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Innovation and Incubation Centre at NID Gandhinagar, Goyal said India’s creative ecosystem must be strengthened to ensure better opportunities and fair compensation for professionals in the design industry.
He added that design, packaging, branding, research and development would play a critical role in shaping India’s future economy. The minister said institutions such as NID are helping transform young people from job seekers into job creators by promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. He also expressed confidence that the newly launched incubation centre would strengthen India’s global design presence and elevate the “Designed in India” identity internationally.
Goyal said the government intends to expand NID’s role and presence nationwide, following guidance from Amit Shah. The event was also attended by Bhupendra Patel and other senior leaders.
