Residents displaced from Madhu Park Ridge A Block have appealed to the Telangana government to recognize them as stakeholders in the ongoing Musi River rejuvenation project, placing their demands before Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.
The affected residents met the Deputy CM on Monday at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad and submitted a formal representation outlining their concerns and expectations. While reiterating their support for the ambitious Musi river development initiative, they made it clear that their primary demand is fair rehabilitation and inclusion in the development process.
According to the residents, displacement has caused significant hardship, and they are now seeking justice through structured rehabilitation measures. As part of their appeal, they submitted three proposals to the government, urging authorities to consider them under the state’s prestigious Musi rejuvenation programme. They stressed that being made partners in the project would ensure both accountability and a sense of security for the displaced families.
The residents emphasized that they are not opposing development but are instead requesting a balanced approach that safeguards their livelihoods and rights. They called on the government to adopt a humanitarian perspective while addressing their situation, highlighting that inclusive development is essential for long-term success of such major urban projects.
Responding to their concerns, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu assured the delegation that the government would examine all three proposals carefully. He stated that the administration is committed to ensuring justice for displaced communities and would take a compassionate view of their demands.
The Deputy CM further instructed Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Managing Director E.V. Narasimha Reddy and Rangareddy District Collector Narayana Reddy to conduct a detailed review of the proposals. He directed them to submit a comprehensive report to the Musi Cabinet Sub-Committee for further consideration.
The delegation included Madhu Park Ridge A Block President Dr. K. Srisailam, Secretary Dr. Kareemulla, Advisor Sanjay Shukla, Legal Advisor Pratap Reddy, JAC member B.N. Reddy, Vice President Rambabu, along with other affected residents who participated in the meeting.
