Delay in RUB causing hardship to commuters

Construction of the railway underground bridge (RUB) connecting Bodhan town with Mosra mandal is progressing at a slow pace, causing significant hardship for commuters, farmers, students, employees, and motorists who depend on the route every day.

Although work on the project began several months ago, residents say progress has fallen far short of expectations, leading to growing public dissatisfaction. The road serves as a vital link for people traveling to and from villages including Bellal, Erajpally, Amdapur, Ootpally, Rajav Nagar Thanda, Mosra, Thimmapur, Chintakunta, and several other nearby settlements.

Farmers transporting agricultural produce to markets, along with students, office-goers, traders, and other commuters, rely heavily on this route for their daily travel to Bodhan. Even light rainfall leaves the road waterlogged and slippery, severely disrupting traffic movement. Two-wheelers frequently skid on the muddy surface, while autorickshaws, cars, tractors, and goods vehicles often get stuck for hours.

According to residents, the problems have worsened because the construction agency has failed to speed up the work. They have urged the authorities to at least level the temporary road, lay gravel, and ensure proper drainage to prevent rainwater from accumulating until the bridge is completed. They have also requested the installation of warning signs, adequate lighting during the night, and traffic management measures to reduce the risk of accidents.

Residents expressed hope that once the underground railway bridge is completed, travel between Bodhan and Mosra will become much smoother, while the long waits at the railway crossing will be eliminated. However, with construction progressing slowly, commuters continue to face daily inconvenience. Local residents, motorists, and public representatives have appealed to the government and the concerned authorities to expedite the project, maintain quality standards, and complete the RUB  at the earliest for public use.
