Cyberabad Police recover 1060 stolen and lost phones

In what can be termed as constructive and swift work, Cyberabad Police has recovered 1,060 mobile phones. Under the supervision of DCP Crimes L C Naik, the CCS, IT Cell, and Social Media teams of Cyberabad Police traced and recovered the phones in the last 45 days.

Police teams recovered these stolen and lost mobile phones using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The recovered phones, worth Rs 3.18 crore, were handed over to their rightful owners at the Cyberabad Commissioner Office. The DCP L C Naik said installing CCTV cameras in colonies and community areas is highly beneficial for ensuring safety and security.

He urged the public to report lost mobile phones either at their nearest police station or directly through the CEIR portal, which is accessible online across all States and Union Territories. He highlighted that using the CEIR portal helps prevent the misuse of stolen phones and facilitates their swift recovery.

During the event, DCP Crimes shared the zone-wise recovery details CCS Madhapur recovered 245 phones, CCS Balanagar 225, CCS Medchal 200, CCS Rajendranagar 205, and CCS Shamshabad 185. The recipients expressed their happiness and thanked the police for their prompt and efficient action.
