The Union Ministry of Mines is organising a roadshow on the 7th tranche of auction of critical and strategic mineral blocks and the 2nd tranche of exploration licence (EL) blocks on at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Gachibowli, Hyderabad on Monday.
The roadshow is being graced by Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Mines, representatives from state governments, industry stakeholders, and prospective bidders.
The 7th tranche comprises 19 critical and strategic mineral blocks, including minerals such as tungsten, lithium, tin and rock phosphate, which are vital for sectors like clean energy, advanced technologies and fertilisers.
With six tranches already conducted, 46 critical mineral blocks have been successfully auctioned so far, reflecting the government’s continued efforts to strengthen mineral security and reduce import dependence.
The event also highlights the 2nd Tranche of Exploration Licence (EL) Blocks, aimed at enhancing private sector participation in exploration, particularly for deep-seated and critical minerals. The exploration licence regime provides a structured framework for reconnaissance and prospecting, thereby strengthening the exploration ecosystem in the country.
The roadshow includes detailed presentations on mineral potential, auction framework, policy reforms. An interactive session with stakeholders is also being held to address queries and facilitate wider participation.
This initiative is aligned with the government’s vision of building a robust and self-reliant mineral sector, supporting the clean energy transition, and advancing the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
