K. T. Rama Rao, Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi , made sharp remarks targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Congress party, and also Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy was never a true Congressman and claimed that he is, ideologically and politically, aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He described Revanth Reddy as a “Bade Bhai ka Tammudu,” accusing him of wearing a Congress mask while pursuing BJP interests. Calling upon minorities and all those opposed to communal politics, KTR urged people to “remove the BJP mask worn by Revanth Reddy” and recognize the BJP leader he claimed exists within him.
Criticising the Congress party’s campaign narrative, KTR said it was meaningless to seek votes merely on the basis of being in power. He challenged Congress leaders to explain what they had achieved during the last two years in office. He asserted that BRS, once back in power, would once again develop towns and urban areas far better than the Congress government, as it had done in the past.
KTR further stated that only those who had actually benefited from Congress election promises should vote for the party. He listed unfulfilled assurances such as enhanced pensions, financial assistance to women, education assurance cards, Rythu Bharosa, Kalyana Lakshmi and gold schemes, alleging that the Congress had deceived the people despite making tall promises, particularly to minorities and backward classes.
During the campaign, KTR played audio and video clips from the Assembly election period in which Revanth Reddy had allegedly used abusive language against Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and his family, accusing them of corruption, illegal contracts and sand mining. He questioned why Pocharam, who had once sworn in the name of Lord Balaji to remain with K. Chandrashekar Rao for life, chose to join the Congress despite making such statements earlier.
Accusing Pocharam of switching sides for personal gain, KTR said that thousands of party workers and leaders remained loyal to BRS. He challenged Pocharam Srinivas Reddy to resign and face the people, asserting that only then would the public decide whom they truly support. KTR stated the development achieved in Banswada was solely due to the previous BRS government and demanded Congress leaders to account for any tangible development carried out after coming to power.
