District Collector Borkade Hemant Sahadeva Rao has directed officials to make comprehensive preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, emphasizing that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the program. The Collector conducted a teleconference with concerned officials on Thursday to review arrangements for the SIR exercise and the training programs planned for BLOs and BLAs.
During the meeting, he announced that special training sessions would be organized for BLOs and recognized political party representatives serving as BLAs. Describing the electoral roll revision as one of the most critical components of the election process, the Collector said officials must complete all preparatory measures to ensure accurate voter registration, corrections, and updates.
He instructed authorities to provide thorough training to BLOs so that they can identify duplicate voter registrations, verify objections in accordance with election rules, and minimize errors in the electoral rolls. As per the directions of the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, training programs will be conducted on June 19 for participants from Mulugu, Mallampalli, and Venkatapur mandals at the District Collectorate Conference Hall in Mulugu.
The Collector stated that the training program would provide comprehensive guidance on various aspects of electoral roll management, including voter list revision procedures, registration of new voters, changes to names and addresses, identification of duplicate entries, examination of objections, and compliance with election regulations. Officials were instructed to inform all BLOs and BLAs in advance and make necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth and systematic conduct of the training sessions.
The Collector also revealed that details of BLOs and their supervisors for all 303 polling stations in the Mulugu Assembly constituency have been made available to the public through the notice boards of the District Election Officer’s Office and the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Office, as well as through social media platforms. He directed officials to ensure that polling station-wise information—including polling station number, polling station name, BLO name and mobile number, and supervisor details—is easily accessible to the public.
