Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy delivered a blistering critique of former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi during his address at the Ravi Narayana Reddy National Award Presentation Ceremony, accusing them of self-aggrandisement and failing to uphold democratic values. Revanth lambasted KCR for self-proclaiming as the "father of Telangana" and an "activist," questioning what sacrifices he had made compared to historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi, who relinquished power and faced bullets for the nation.

Some are writing their own titles as Telangana's father figure and claiming to be activists. When police issue a simple notice, they cry foul, asking if notices are given to a father figure," Revanth remarked, highlighting the irony. He pointed out that true activists like Professor Kodandaram, who unified the Telangana movement, were arrested by breaking doors during BRS rule, yet KCR's regime conveniently forgot such leaders then. Revanth urged KCR to humbly accept the people's rejection in elections, warning that blaming voters undermines democracy.

"Ravi Narayana Reddy sacrificed everything for Telangana, while you amassed positions and billions in assets—how does that make you a Torch bearer?" he charged, emphasizing that those choosing illegal paths must face inquiries, as per Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's principles, citing examples like Shibu Soren who faced probes without claiming divine status.

The event, held at the Ravi Narayana Reddy Auditorium in Banjara Hills, was organized under the aegis of the Telangana Amaraveerula Smaraka Trust. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy graced the occasion as the chief guest, alongside notable attendees including Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, CPI leaders K. Narayana, Chada Venkat Reddy, MLC Satyam, Professor Kodandaram, MLA  Anil Kumar Reddy, MLC Addanki Dayakar and other dignitaries.

Revanth Reddy presented the prestigious Ravi Narayana Reddy National Award to Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy, honouring his commitment to democratic ideals. Revanth praised Justice Sudarshan as a beacon of inspiration in the second generation of Telangana leaders, akin to Jaipal Reddy, noting his nomination by Rahul Gandhi as Vice-Presidential candidate to counter authoritarian forces. "Awarding him is fitting, as his resolve even intimidated Modi, leading to his electoral foray against one-party, one-person rule," Revanth stated, congratulating the organisers for the timely decision.

Revanth extolled Ravi Narayana Reddy's legacy as a revolutionary who led armed peasant struggles against despotic forces, donated 500 acres, abolished bonded labour, and won Parliament election with a larger majority than Nehru. He recalled Nehru inaugurating the first Parliament building with Reddy, symbolizing people's verdict. At 60, Reddy retired from party and politics to inspire others, a contrast to today's leaders clinging to power despite defeats.

Turning to broader issues, Revanth criticized BJP's "One Nation, One Party" agenda under Modi and the SIR (likely referring to a policy) aimed at undermining voting rights granted by the Constitution. He called on communists to raise awareness in villages against assaults on the Constitution, stressing Congress's role in legalising communist struggles, like land distribution to the poor. "One side of the coin is Congress, the other communists," he said.

Revanth assured steps to honour Ravi Narayana Reddy appropriately, involving consultations to ensure Telangana pays due respect.
