CM directs officials to ground projects allocated in budget

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu  on Thursday has given directions to the officials to set up various projects including the Rare Earth Corridor (REC) allocated in the Union Budget 2026-27. The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the top officials of various departments on the allocation made to the state in the Union Budget at his camp office. He opined that if all the government departments are able to spend the funds allocated for various schemes, additional funds can be drawn. 

He suggested that the recent “challenge policy” introduced by the Centre should also be utilised to get some more funds. He said that the East Coast Industrial Corridor should also be proposed from Moolapeta in the coastal area to Krishnapatnam downstream. He proposed that a mega textile park should be set up in Palanadu and a sports manufacturing hub in Tirupati. As part of the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, semiconductor design and other projects should be set up in Amaravati. 

In addition to this, an ecosystem like Biodesign, MedTech Park and Biopharma Shakti Mission will come up in the Health City in the capital region. He said that projects should be taken up in Amaravati under the policy of Medical Tourism-Heal in AP. He said that a proposal should be made to manufacture electronics components in Hindupur. He said that there is a possibility of getting more funds for coconut, cocoa, cashew and coffee crops. He also said that there is a possibility of setting up food processing projects on a large scale in the state.
