‘Clean energy technologies are essential for sustainable development’

Metro India News | DESHMUKHI : Professor K. S. M. S. Raghava Rao, Professor at IIT Tirupati and former Director of CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, emphasized the urgent need to shift away from conventional energy sources towards clean energy (green energy) to protect the environment and achieve sustainable development. A three-day national conference on “Harnessing Clean Energy Technologies to Drive Sustainability and Combat Climate Change Worldwide” was inaugurated on Thursday at Vignan’s University, located at Deshmukhi Village, Bhudan Pochampally Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District.

The conference is being organized under the ‘AICTE-VAANI’ scheme introduced by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to promote technical education in regional languages. Speaking as the Chief Guest, Professor Raghava Rao stated that green technologies are of immense importance to developing countries at a time when global warming is rapidly intensifying. Professor Ramesh K. Guduru of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, called upon students to reduce dependence on conventional resources and expand research on advanced green technologies. Advisor to Vignan’s University and retired IAS officer Dr. Poonam Malakondaiah, University Director Prof. Y. V. Daseswara Rao, staff and students participated in the program.
