Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President N. Ramchander Rao on Friday alleged that the Congress government has failed to fulfill the promises it made to the people. He made the remarks while participating in the release of the book Emergency Vyatireka Porata Yodhulu (Warriors of the Anti-Emergency Struggle), authored by party leader Chinta Sambamurthy at a function held in Nalgonda.

Ramchander Rao recalled the Emergency period and alleged that the Congress still has not expressed regret or apologized for imposing the Emergency and accused the party of lacking respect for the Constitution. The BJP leader also criticized both the Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), alleging that they have politicized the issue of residential educational institutions. He claimed that many Gurukul schools continue to function without permanent buildings despite repeated promises and alleged that crores of rupees had been misused.

He further accused the state government of not paying pending fee reimbursement dues amounting to Rs 12,000 crore. Highlighting the center's contribution to Telangana's development, Ramchander Rao said several National Highway projects and urban drinking water schemes under the AMRUT program were funded by the union government support.

Referring to Nalgonda district, he claimed that the Union Government had sanctioned Rs 83 crore for a drinking water project while the Chief Minister merely performed the foundation stone-laying ceremony without crediting the center. He also questioned why the state government was not recognizing infrastructure projects such as National Highways and Food Corporation of India (FCI) warehouses constructed with Central assistance.

Ramchander Rao welcomed the state's approval of the Viksit Bharat for Rozgar Aajeevika Mission Grameen (VBG-RAMG) initiative while at the same time he criticized statements suggesting further legal challenges to the scheme, alleging that they reflected a lack of commitment to its implementation.
