Metro India News | MUMBAI : Bank of Baroda has been awarded the second prize under the Government of India's 'Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar' Scheme for the year 2025-26, in the headquarters category for nationalised banks/ Financial Institutions with 800+ employees, in recognition of its performance in Official Language implementation. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Bank has received this award. The award was presented on Hindi Diwas 2026 held on September 14, 2026, at CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Navi Mumbai, under the chairmanship of Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation.
Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, received the award from Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Ministers of State for Home . Dr. Debadatta Chand mentioned that the award reflects Bank of Baroda's commitment to serving customers in the language they are most comfortable with. The recent launch of AI-powered tool, 'bob-SAMVAD', enhanced the bank’s ability to engage with customers seamlessly across Indian languages, he stated.
