Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay on Saturday paid rich tributes on the occasion of Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Jagjivan Ram was the jewel of the lower classes. He also said the Modi government was working to achieve his aspirations. He alleged that the Congress party was an anti-Dalit party and reminded that the Congress had insulted everyone from Ambedkar to Jagjivan Ram. He said the party that insulted Ambedkar in Parliament and made him resign from the post of Union minister was the Congress party.

He was angry that the Congress party gave Bharat Ratna to duplicate Gandhis and ignored BR Ambedkar, who authored the country's constitution. He said Babu Jagjivan Ram had the power to rule the country after former PM Indira Gandhi, but she created anarchy by imposing Emergency without giving him the Prime Minister’s post. He said it was the Modi government that is distributing rice in ration shops in Telangana.

He criticized the Congress for playing a drama by claiming that they were distributing it themselves in the name of a fine variety of rice. He accused the Congress leaders of playing a drama to impress artistes. He was angry that farmers were being put to trouble by not purchasing their grain properly by the State government.

He demanded that Modi's photo should be put in the ration shops. He asked what was objection for the Congress leaders to put the Prime Minister's photo at the ration shops. He called on BJP mandal presidents to go to the houses of the poor, have lunch and find out about their problems. He said the Congress had acted inhumanly regarding the HCU lands. He said it was not right to attack and send Rohit, a university scholar, who opposed the government's approach, to jail.
