As part of the second phase of the “Arrive Alive Campaign,” a road safety awareness program was held today for bus and van drivers and helpers of Jubilee Hills Public School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School in Jubilee Hills. The event was conducted under the supervision of Jubilee Hills Traffic Police Station Inspector N. Ravinder and Begumpet TTI Inspector Nagul Ashok.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-2) Kajal Singh, the chief guest, emphasized the critical responsibility drivers carry, noting that students’ lives are in their hands. She urged drivers to remain alert, avoid negligent driving, and never drive under the influence of alcohol. She highlighted the importance of defensive driving, which involves anticipating risks, staying vigilant, and maintaining awareness of surrounding traffic to prevent accidents.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-2) C. Venugopal Reddy advised drivers and passengers to always use seat belts, maintain safe following distances, and overtake only from the right. Assistant Commissioner of Police K. Hari Prasad stressed adherence to traffic rules in personal and professional life, proper helmet use for two-wheeler riders and pillion riders, and avoiding distractions while driving.
Begumpet TTI Inspector Nagul Ashok conducted a PowerPoint session explaining traffic rules and the dangers of drunk driving, reinforcing road safety practices.
The program was attended by Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills Traffic Police Inspectors N. Ravinder and K. Sunil, Director of Jubilee Hills Public School Varalakshmi, Transport In-Charge S.M. Krishna, and around 200 bus and van drivers, helpers, and TTI Begumpet staff.
The campaign aims to strengthen awareness of traffic regulations and ensure the safety of school children through responsible and alert driving.
