Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department showcased the State’s cuisine and tourist attractions to a group of social media influencers, with Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh joining them for a traditional Andhra meal and preparing the region’s popular Pootharekulu sweet himself onWorld Tourism Day in Rajamahendravaram.
The Minister inspected the arrangements and interacted with social media influencers who have been promoting tourism destinations across the State through digital platforms.A traditional Andhra meal served on banana leaves became one of the highlights of the event. Durgesh personally served food to the guests and later joined the influencers for a traditional group meal. The influencers sampled a variety of Andhra dishes and appreciated the cuisine, according to the Tourism Department.
Durgesh urged the influencers to use their social media platforms to promote lesser-known tourist destinations in Andhra Pradesh and bring them to the attention of a wider audience. The initiative is aimed at using digital content creators to increase the visibility of the State’s tourism attractions and promote them to audiences beyond Andhra Pradesh. The celebrations also featured a special selfie point, where the Minister, tourism officials and influencers posed for photographs. The Tourism Department said social media influencers would play a role in promoting Andhra Pradesh’s tourism destinations as brand ambassadors, particularly by showcasing scenic locations, local culture, cuisine and experiences through their digital platforms.
