In a strategic move to position Andhra Pradesh as the drone capital of India, the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation (APDC) has extended an open invitation to investors, innovators, and drone-tech companies to participate in the state’s ambitious drone ecosystem. The call comes as part of the state's broader vision to encourage indigenous technology, foster innovation, and transform the region into a global hub for drone manufacturing and services.
In a statement issued by APDC, the corporation emphasized its commitment to realize the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who envisions Andhra Pradesh as a pioneer in drone-based governance and services. With a comprehensive strategic framework in place, APDC is accelerating its efforts to ensure drone services are integrated into both administrative functions and everyday public use.
Highlighting the versatility and potential of drones across industries, APDC has already conducted extensive research and identified 100 use cases. Now, the corporation is seeking additional proposals from entrepreneurs, startups, and drone-tech experts to expand on these use cases. This initiative aims to unlock novel applications for drones in sectors such as agriculture, mining, public safety, infrastructure monitoring, and more.
APDC has officially called for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from individuals and organizations with relevant experience or ideas to help shape the next generation of drone utilities. Proposals must be submitted online by April 21, 2025. A centerpiece of the state’s drone strategy is the development of a world-class Drone City across 300 acres in Orvakal, Kurnool district. The location has already undergone master planning and land acquisition, paving the way for a multi-zone drone innovation park unlike any other in the country.
