Zoo staff felicitated on Independence Day

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, on Saturday with the hoisting of the National Flag and recognition of employees for their dedicated services. J. Vasantha, curator, hoisted the National Flag at the administrative building in the presence of zoo officers and staff. On the occasion, Forest Benevolent Fund cheques of Rs.50,000 each were distributed to the family members of three deceased employees. As part of the celebrations, 100 staff members were presented Certificates of Appreciation along with cash rewards in recognition of their meritorious services in their respective fields.

Speaking on the occasion, Vasantha said Independence Day was celebrated as a national festival across the country with joy and happiness. She said the three objectives of Nehru Zoological Park were to “Care, Breed and Educate”, with wildlife conservation being pursued through planned breeding of endangered species. She congratulated the award recipients and appreciated their dedication and hard work. She also highlighted the zoo's animal enclosure designs, which provide large spaces enriched with natural habitat conditions. Park and garden supervisors, lion keepers, head animal keepers, animal keepers, head malis, malis, watch and ward personnel, workshop staff and office employees also attended.
