BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said that the extent of corruption and irregularities in Telangana is now being exposed not merely by the opposition parties, but openly by legislators belonging to the ruling Congress party itself.

He said he fully agreed with the remarks made by Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy.

KT Rama Rao said the fact that a public representative from the ruling party was compelled to make allegations of corruption against the government and its senior leadership itself demonstrated how badly governance had deteriorated in Telangana.

Addressing the party leaders after hoisting the National Flag at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday to mark the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said that for a long time, the Congress government had dismissed allegations of corruption and irregularities made by opposition parties as mere political criticism. However, the same allegations were now being raised by MLAs belonging to the ruling Congress party, he said.

KT Rama Rao said it was not an ordinary development for a ruling party MLA to publicly raise allegations of corruption against the government’s top leadership, and that it reflected the seriousness of the situation prevailing in the State. The statements of the ruling party’s own public representatives, he said, were sufficient to establish the extent of corruption prevailing under the Congress government.

The BRS working president further alleged that the Telangana Congress had been turned into an ATM for Rahul Gandhi and the AICC.

He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visits to Telangana, had also alleged that the State had been turned into an ATM for the AICC. On the one hand, the Prime Minister of the country himself was alleging that Telangana had become an ATM for the AICC, while on the other hand, ruling Congress MLAs were raising questions over corruption in the State, KTR said.

The BRS working president also questioned why the Central government was not taking action when allegations that Telangana had been turned into an ATM for the AICC were being made at the level of the Prime Minister.
