Metro India News | AMARAVATI :

Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister and Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar has accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of attempting to disrupt the development of Amaravati and creating unrest in the capital region for political gains. In a statement issued on Saturday, the minister alleged that the YSRCP leadership has consistently opposed Amaravati as the state’s capital and is unable to accept the rapid pace of development currently underway.

Referring to the recent visit by YSRCP leaders to the capital region, he claimed the party deliberately adopted a provocative approach that culminated in clashes with local farmers. The minister alleged that the YSRCP has no moral authority to comment on Amaravati, accusing the previous government of beginning its tenure with the demolition of the Praja Vedika and subsequently stalling the capital city’s development.

He said farmers who voluntarily pooled their lands for the construction of Amaravati were subjected to uncertainty after the previous government’s three-capital proposal and were allegedly mistreated during their protests. Manohar further claimed that while the YSRCP government failed to undertake any meaningful construction activity in Amaravati during its five-year tenure, the present coalition government has accelerated infrastructure development under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
