Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women in India are receiving unprecedented respect, opportunities, and empowerment. He stated that the concept of Nari Shakti is not merely a slogan of the BJP but a national mission aimed at strengthening the country.

Addressing the International Women’s Day celebrations organised by the State Mahila Morcha, Rao said that India has witnessed a significant social transformation in recent years. He noted that there was a time when the birth of a girl child was often neglected and female foeticide was a harsh reality. However, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative launched by Prime Minister Modi has brought a major shift, encouraging society to protect, educate, and empower the girl child.

He said the Modi government has introduced several welfare schemes that directly improve the lives of women. Through the PM Ujjwala Yojana, crores of poor households received LPG connections, reducing indoor pollution and improving the health of women. He also highlighted that millions of families have realised the dream of owning a permanent house, with many houses being registered in the names of women, thereby strengthening their financial security.

Rao pointed out that the election of Droupadi Murmu as the President of India with BJP support reflects the party’s commitment to empowering all sections of society. He also mentioned that Nirmala Sitharaman has held key positions including Defence Minister and currently serves as Union Finance Minister.
