Two nabbed in wine shop theft

Miyapur Police arrested two men for a theft at JS Wine Mart, Reddy Colony. Maddala Srinivasa Rao, 34, a Rapido driver from Suraram, and Akash Kumar, 22, a mason from Bihar, were taken into custody. Srinivasa Rao is reportedly involved in two other cases under Suraram and Pet-Bhasheerbad police limits.

The incident occurred on the night of March 14. The cashier closed the shop around 11:30 pm, and the next morning, when the shop reopened, the roof sheets near the storeroom were broken, cash counters damaged, and coins worth around Rs 85,000 were missing. Police registered a case under Cr No 411/2025 and began investigations.

Recovered from the accused were Rs 9,500 in cash, a One Plus mobile, and a Pulsar vehicle. Investigations revealed the theft was planned in advance, with the men surveying the shop and entering through the roof at night to steal the cash. Miyapur Police urge shop owners to strengthen doors and rooftops, install CCTV cameras, maintain security guards, and avoid keeping large cash amounts overnight. They also advise reporting any suspicious activity immediately.
