The Telangana Rajyadhikara Party (TRP) has expressed strong anger over the alleged incident during the Kummera Mallanna Jatara and demanded that the State government introduce a special Atrocity Act for Backward Classes (BCs). Addressing a press meet, TRP founder and MLC Teenmar Mallanna said the meeting was organized to protest what he described as continuous attacks on the BC community.

He alleged that several attacks against BCs are taking place, but only a few incidents are coming to light while many remain unreported. Referring to the Jatara episode, he said the matter surfaced through social media and questioned how such an incident could occur in a place lacking even basic facilities like electricity. He stated that the party is preparing to intensify its agitation against the government and seek a permanent solution to prevent recurrence.

Mallanna demanded that Telangana enact a “BC Atrocity Act” similar to the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, stating that the absence of a dedicated protection law has led to a rise in murders, assaults and insults against BCs. He said that while no law can guarantee complete justice, such legislation would serve as a deterrent.

Criticizing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for not responding to the incident so far, he questioned the government’s silence and alleged discrimination in handling the case. He also faulted the police for allegedly failing to properly register the victims’ complaint.

Demanding murder charges against those responsible for the reported death of a two-month-old infant, Mallanna called for a Maha Dharna at Indira Park on March 2 and appealed to BC organizations and public representatives to support the proposed BC Protection Act.
