Three newly appointed Additional Judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court were sworn in on Monday, taking the total strength of judges in the High Court from 29 to 32. Justice Sunita Gandham, Justice Alapati Giridhar, and Justice Purushotham Kumar Chintalapudi took oath as Additional Judges at a ceremony held in the First Court Hall of the High Court. The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Lisa Gill.
The appointments came after President Droupadi Murmu approved the elevation of the three judges, following which the Union Ministry of Law and Justice issued the official notification. With the induction of the three Additional Judges, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has further strengthened its judicial capacity to handle the growing volume of cases. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by the Full Bench of the High Court, representatives of the Bar Council, members of the High Court Advocates’ Association, senior advocates, judicial officers, registrars, officials from the Law Department, and members of the legal fraternity.
