In a landmark diplomatic tribute and a reflection of Hyderabad’s growing global stature, the Telangana government is set to unveil “Donald Trump Avenue” near the United States Consulate in Hyderabad next week. The move fulfils a commitment made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in December 2025 and underscores Telangana’s tradition of recognising international leaders and institutions that have played a role in strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a global hub for technology, innovation and investment.

The prominent stretch of road adjoining the US Consulate in Cyberabad will be formally renamed Donald Trump Avenue on June 23. The inauguration is expected to be attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Sergio Gor, making it a high profile diplomatic occasion that highlights the deepening ties between Telangana and the United States.

The move is expected to attract global attention as Hyderabad and the United States share strong business ties driving investments, jobs and mutual growth. The Telangana government took a decision to name more roads after tech giants like Google and Microsoft with an aim to position Telangana as a symbol of innovation-driven India.

A. Revanth Reddy had initially revealed plans in this regard while addressing the annual US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conclave in Delhi last year. Following this, the government announced plans - ahead of Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 - to honour the global tech corporations for their contribution to the emergence of Hyderabad as a leading global IT destination.

Officials describe the event as both symbolic and historic, reflecting Hyderabad’s longstanding relationship with American businesses, technology firms and institutions that have contributed to the city's transformation into a leading global innovation destination. The ceremony will also serve as a prelude to the celebrations surrounding US Independence Day on July 4, with special cultural and diplomatic programmes planned as part of the festivities.
