CREDAI Hyderabad, NAREDCO Telangana and FSAI Hyderabad, in coordination with the Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department, organised a workshop in Hyderabad on streamlining the Provisional No Objection Certificate (NOC) framework and adopting new-age fire safety technologies. The workshop brought together real estate developers, architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, fire safety experts, auditors and government officials to address regulatory bottlenecks while strengthening fire and life safety in high-rise residential, retail, hospital, hotel, school and commercial projects.
The workshop follows the withdrawal of the National Building Code of India 2016 and introduction of the advisory National Building Construction Standards (NBCS) 2026. The Fire Services Department presented draft Provisional NOC documents with practical checklists for residential, business, mercantile and educational buildings. A key proposal was a single Provisional NOC for multiple blocks within a project, aimed at simplifying approvals for large developments. The risk-based framework seeks to standardise safety requirements, eliminate repetitive provisions and improve the ease and speed of doing business.
The department also showcased IoT-based sensors for real-time monitoring of fire pumps, water levels and generator readiness, along with pressureless aerosols and advanced smoke-management systems. Discussions covered transparent online processing timelines, early-stage safety protocols, IoT-based smoke detection, early-warning suppression systems and automated flame-dampening technologies. Director General of Telangana Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, said Provisional NOCs should ensure fire safety is incorporated into projects from the design stage. He stressed digital transparency, modern safety standards and real-time monitoring to improve urban fire resilience.
CREDAI Hyderabad President N. Jaideep Reddy, NAREDCO Telangana President Sreedhar Reddy Koppula and FSAI Hyderabad President Manoj Wahi also emphasised procedural clarity, technology adoption and stronger industry-regulator collaboration. The workshop concluded with a commitment to safer, technology-driven and resilient urban development in Telangana.
