St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, hosted its 46th Graduation Ceremony with 890 graduates from Arts, Commerce, Science and Management streams conferred degrees and 43 students were presented with gold medals.
Principal Prof. T. Uma Joseph described the occasion as one of celebration, gratitude and new beginnings. Invoking St. Francis of Assisi, the college patron, she urged graduates to serve others, uphold truth, include the marginalised and challenge wrongdoing. Quoting Maya Angelou, she encouraged them to keep learning and improving, concluding with a call to excel professionally, lead with integrity and leave the world better.
Dr. Priyankaa Varghese, Chief Conservator of Forests, Director, Telangana Forest Academy urged students to dream big, remain grateful to parents and teachers.
Prof. Sudhakar Reddy, Controller of Examinations and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Osmania University an alumna, credited the college for nurturing scientific interests, emphasising that education extends beyond marks and certificates. He highlighted five essential Cs: critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration and curiosity. Dr. Soundarya Joseph, State Project Officer, RUSA, Department of Collegiate Education, Telangana an alumna, praised the college’s early emphasis on skill-based courses and urged graduates to apply knowledge wisely and practise kindness.
