Spellman, a renowned name in X-ray generators has set foot in the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Nadupuru village near Visakhapatnam with a formal ‘bhoomi poojan’ ceremony. Representatives from Spellman including Robert J. Frankland, Vice-President Sales from the U.S., Stephanie from China, and Arindam Bose from Spellman India were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Jitender Sharma, CEO, AMTZ said that X-ray technology will drive innovation and strengthen our mission to make healthcare technologies more accessible and affordable. Industry big-wigs say that a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will propel growth and give a fillip to the med-tech capabilities.

Spellman’s facility will be the first of its kind in India, manufacturing high-precision X-ray generators and advancing the country’s capabilities in healthcare technology. With over 2,100 employees worldwide and a reputation for innovation, Spellman is expected to catalyse new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge transfer, and economic growth in the region, according to a statement issued by AMTZ.

The addition of Spellman to AMTZ’s ecosystem highlights the zone’s growing prominence as a destination for global healthcare manufacturers. By fostering partnerships with international leaders such as Spellman, the AMTZ is paving the way for India to emerge as a key player in the global med-tech industry, the statement says.
