Wanaparthy MLA Thudi Megha Reddy alleged on Wednesday that certain leaders accustomed to commissions are creating unnecessary disputes in the name of reservoirs. Speaking at a press meet, the MLA said it was ironic that those who introduced the GO 105 for the construction of Gollapalli Reservoir after the BRS party came to power are now creating controversy over filled reservoirs.

He stated that the Edula Reservoir is a part of the Palamuru–Rangareddy project and has been constructed over 2,800 acres. However, he pointed out that despite being located in the Wanaparthy constituency, not even a single acre in the constituency is receiving irrigation water from it. He also questioned those who claimed that a regulator was constructed for water supply, asking them to clarify the height levels of the Buddaram Reservoir located downstream.

MLA Megha Reddy alleged that after the Wanaparthy constituency reorganization, only Buddaram, Buddaram Stage-2, Polkepahad and Gollapalli reservoirs remained to serve Wanaparthy. He stated that a request has been submitted to Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy to take up construction of these reservoirs and assured that work will begin soon.
