Shadnagar police solve murder mystery of woman, one arrested

Shadnagar Police solved murder mystery of a woman and arrested a 36-year-old inter-state habitual offender and recovered gold earrings, silver anklets, a two-wheeler, and a mobile phone from him on Saturday.

On January 20, 2025, a woman was found murdered in a lodge at Shadnagar. The arrested person has been identified as Andri Devadas. The accused joined a College in Rangareddy district as a warden in August 2024. There, he developed a relationship with the deceased, and promised to marry her.

He had been living in a live-in relationship with the deceased for a few days, killed her after she demanded a marriage commitment and threatened to file a police complaint if he continued to exploit her physically. Under the pretext of discussing the matter, he called her to the lodge and murdered her by strangling her with a scarf, stole her gold and silver ornaments, and fled on his bike.

The Shadnagar Police cracked the case, arrested the accused, and recovered a pair of gold earrings (3 tolas), a pair of silver anklets (4 tolas), two wheeler vehicle and a mobile phone. Lakshmaiah, resident of Narsappaguda village, Ranga Reddy district, has lodged the complaint in this case.

Deceased woman is about 35 years old and she was a resident of Narsappaguda village, Ranga Reddy district. The accused completed a BA degree and a diploma in ECE. He was married in 2012, but they separated due to marital disputes. He later worked as a junior lineman. He has committed the same kind of crimes before also, said police.
