Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir has urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to order stringent action, including registration of FIRs, against the alleged misuse of Form 7 applications to seek deletion of genuine voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. In a letter to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Shabbir Ali expressed concern over reports of Form 7 applications being filed in bulk, including through pre-printed forms, seeking deletion of eligible electors on grounds such as death, shifting of residence or duplicate enrolment.

He said minority voters were particularly apprehensive that their names could be targeted without their knowledge and urged the government to ensure that genuine voters were not removed from the electoral rolls through fraudulent applications.

Shabbir Ali cited a TPCC complaint regarding around 30 Form 7 applications at Polling Booth No. 210 in Musheerabad. The applications were allegedly filed in the name of BJP booth-level agent S.V. Balachander alias Balu and sought deletion of Congress booth-level agent Mohammad Baba Sharfuddin, his family members and another household in Chikkadapally. The Congress leader urged the Chief Minister to order a thorough inquiry into the alleged misuse of Form 7 applications and take stringent action against those found responsible.
