Jogulamba Zone Deputy Inspector General (DIG) L.S. Chauhan directed the district police machinery to further strengthen the security arrangements for the convenience and safety of devotees attending the Saleshwaram Jatara.

On Friday, the DIG inspected the arrangements at the Saleshwaram Jatara being held in the Nallamala forest region. He instructed officials to continuously improve service facilities for devotees by coordinating with forest department officials and by assessing the increasing number of pilgrims.

Along with District Superintendent of Police Dr. Sangram Singh G. Patil, the DIG reviewed the security arrangements made at the Jatara site. He stated that nearly 400 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of devotees. Devotees were advised to immediately contact the police control room set up at the venue in case of any inconvenience.

The DIG also warned devotees not to venture unnecessarily into the deep forest areas. Expressing satisfaction over the security measures taken by the police, he appreciated the dedication of the personnel and specially congratulated District SP Dr. Sangram Singh G. Patil for organizing effective bandobast arrangements.

Meanwhile, on Thursday night, an RTC depot driver from Nagar Kurnool, Babumia, accidentally slipped and fell into a valley. On-duty SI Murali and constables Urmila and Manikal immediately responded, carried him up to safety and shifted him to the hospital for treatment. The DIG praised the police personnel for their prompt response and bravery.
