Sadasivanagar Tahsildar Office in ruins

For more than three decades, the Sadasivanagar Tahsildar Office has been functioning without adequate infrastructure, leaving both officials and the public to struggle with poor working conditions. The office, which provides essential revenue services such as issuing certificates and processing land-related applications, continues to operate from an old building lacking basic amenities.

Officials and employees have been working in cramped conditions with insufficient rooms, furniture and seating arrangements. Visitors from surrounding villages are often forced to wait outside the office due to the shortage of space. With no proper seating available, many people spend hours under nearby trees until their turn arrives.

The present situation dates back to nearly 30 years ago. A newly constructed Tahsildar office building was reportedly destroyed soon after its completion when People's War Naxalite militants allegedly triggered an explosion using planted detonators. Since then, the office has been functioning from the existing old building without any major infrastructure upgrade.

The building also lacks essential facilities, including toilets and adequate space for staff as well as the public. Officials say these shortcomings have been affecting the delivery of government services and creating unnecessary inconvenience for people visiting the office.

Over the years, local public representatives and revenue officials have submitted several representations to higher authorities seeking sanction for a new Tahsildar office building. Despite repeated requests, the proposal has not received government approval.

Residents have urged the government to immediately sanction funds for constructing a modern Tahsildar office equipped with proper infrastructure, stating that improved facilities would ensure better public services and a more efficient working environment for employees.
