Wanaparthy MLA Thudi Megha Reddy stated that the RTC, which had almost collapsed during the previous BRS rule is moving towards profits under the Congress government. On Thursday, he flagged off four new buses that arrived at the Wanaparthy depot. The MLA said that after the Congress party came to power, Wanaparthy depot alone received 32 new buses including 15 Palle Velugu buses, 11 Express buses, 2 Deluxe buses and 4 Electric buses.
He stated that during the BRS regime, the daily revenue of the Wanaparthy depot was around Rs 4 lakh, but now it has increased to Rs 30–35 lakh per day. He further mentioned that within just two years of the Congress government coming to power, the Wanaparthy depot alone has generated over Rs 10 crore in revenue. Currently, the depot has 118 buses, and another 30–40 new buses will soon be added to the depot, he said. The goal is to provide RTC services to every village in Wanaparthy constituency, he informed.
