Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has requested Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari to secure the Union Cabinet approval for the pending Northern part of the Regional Ring Road ( RRR) and commence the works expeditiously. The Chief Minister met Nitin Gadkari at the latter's residence in New Delhi on Tuesday. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy brought to the attention of the Union Minister that 95 per cent of the land acquisition for RRR North region has already been completed.

Nitin Gadkari has been requested to grant the necessary approvals for the Southern section of the RRR. Revanth Reddy informed the Union Minister that the works of the South and North part of the Regional Ring Road would be completed faster at less cost if the construction works commenced simultaneously. The Chief Minister briefed Nitin Gadkari about the importance of the proposed greenfield highway connecting Hyderabad to the Andhra Pradesh capital city. The highway project was envisaged as per the mandated AP Reorganisation Act. He appealed to the Union Minister to approve and issue orders for this immediately.

Revanth Reddy highlighted the 12-lane highway proposed from 'Bharat Future City' to Bandar Port via Amaravati, which reduces travel distance between Hyderabad and Vijayawada by 100 kilometres. The highway would also help to reduce freight transportation time between Hyderabad and Bandar Port.
