Munugode MLA and senior Congress leader Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Kalvakuntla Kavitha, strongly criticizing her remarks against her father, K. Chandrashekar Rao, a key protagonist of the Telangana movement. He termed her comments as inappropriate and insensitive, especially given KCR’s pivotal role in achieving statehood, and said such statements diminish public respect.
Addressing the media in Munugode on Wednesday, Rajagopal Reddy expressed serious displeasure over Kavitha choosing to criticize her father during her very first political meeting after launching her new outfit, the Telangana Rashtra Sena. He described both the party’s formation and its name as a “massive joke,” questioning the seriousness and intent behind the move.
The Congress leader remarked that by publicly disrespecting her father, Kavitha risks losing the goodwill of the people. He posed a pointed question on how someone who does not honor her own father could expect to gain the affection and trust of the public as a leader.
Rajagopal Reddy further advised Kavitha to keep family disputes out of politics. He stated that any personal grievances, particularly those involving her brother, should not be brought into the public sphere or redirected toward her father, emphasizing that internal family matters have no place in political discourse.
He also highlighted the pending legal issues linked to Kavitha, noting that her name is yet to be cleared in the Delhi liquor controversy. Dismissing her political ambitions, he asserted that forming a political party requires more than financial resources, likening her effort to setting up a small retail venture. He went on to challenge her electoral prospects, claiming that if she contests independently, she would face defeat and even lose her deposit.
