Amaravati is gearing up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on May 2, with arrangements being reviewed by IAS officer Veerapandian, the Nodal Officer overseeing the preparations. The venue for the event is set behind the state secretariat, where PM Modi is expected to arrive after a roadshow spanning 1.4 kilometers.
As per the tentative schedule, the Prime Minister will land at Gannavaram airport at 3pm and travel to the state secretariat via helicopter. During his visit, he is set to re-launch Amaravati capital construction projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore and inaugurate completed development works. Following the event, he will return to Gannavaram airport and depart for Delhi.
Veerapandian has instructed officials to expedite arrangements, ensuring smooth execution of the program. He emphasized providing food for all attendees and setting up adequate counters in parking areas. Additional DGP Madhusudhan Reddy highlighted the expected attendance of over 100 VVIPs, 15 MIPs, and 5,000 VIPs. Guntur District Collector Nagalakshmi urged departments to submit duty pass lists promptly. Senior IAS and IPS officers, including IG Srikanth and Guntur Range IG Sarveshrestha Tripathi, participated in the review meeting to finalize preparations.
