Police install 855 CCTV cameras in Maheshwaram to enhance security

Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu, inaugurated 855 newly installed CCTV cameras in Maheshwaram Zone, enhancing security and surveillance in the region. This installation includes 289 cameras deployed across 26 colonies and villages, covering major roads and junctions at a cost of Rs 68 lakh, with a two-year annual maintenance contract. Additionally, 566 cameras were set up in 138 vulnerable temples under a special security initiative.

These community CCTV cameras will be integrated into the Command & Control Centre for round-the-clock monitoring. With this latest addition, the Maheshwaram Zone now hosts 2,997 community-installed cameras and 23,582 Nenusaitham CCTVs, all geo-tagged for efficient tracking and security measures. Commissioner Sudheer Babu emphasized that CCTV cameras play a crucial role in crime prevention, helping deter unlawful activities, aiding investigations, enabling proactive surveillance, and promoting community safety. He urged colony and village elders to install more cameras, reinforcing their importance in maintaining security.

To recognize their contribution, Sudheer Babu appreciated and felicitated community leaders who actively supported the police in installing the CCTV cameras. He encouraged continued cooperation from residents to create a safer neighborhood through collective responsibility and vigilance.
